Jokowi Is Believed To Be Lobbying Prabowo To Become Ganjar's Vice Presidential Candidate

President Joko Widodo is seen as one of the important figures behind the PDI-P's move to appoint Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Jokowi is also believed to play a role in finding a vice presidential candidate to accompany Ganjar.

One of the most potential vice presidential figures to be offered by Jokowi to PDI Perjungan and Ganjar is the figure of Prabowo Subianto. A Gerindra chairman and Minister of Defense.

Political observer Ujang Komarudin said Jokowi was most likely in an attempt to persuade Prabowo to be willing to become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate. Because as a fellow PDIP cadre, Jokowi will definitely be 'heavyer' to Ganjar.

"It is possible that Jokowi, who lobbies, can determine one of Ganjar's vice presidential candidates, looks like that. Apart from Megawati, Jokowi may have a way or role to lobby Prabowo to be able to become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate," said Ujang, Sunday, April 23.

Ujang said there were several positive things if Ganjar was paired with Prabowo. For example, he said he would maintain the cohesiveness of the current and future government camps.

Then, the Ganjar-Prabowo pair had the opportunity to get a big vote in the 2024 presidential election considering that their electability in a number of surveys was always in the top three.

However, Ujang conveyed that the final result of the political cooperation was in Prabowo's hands.

"We are waiting for the answer from Prabowo in the future, of course whether Prabowo will calculate carefully the political calculations regarding being a presidential candidate and continuing to never back down or become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate," he said.

Ujang also reminded again about the potential for victory if Ganjar had a duet with Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election. Apart from both of them coming from big parties and having high electability, there is support from Jokowi as a figure who has a big influence.

"If Prabowo wants to become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate, the potential for victory is high, meaning there are 4 strong people, there are Jokowi, Megawati, Prabowo, and Ganjar," said Ujang.
