Garut Police Not Rekomendating Alternative Routes For Kamojang And Cijapati For Homecomers

Garut Resort Police did not recommend travelers using the Kamojang and Cijapati Alternative Routes that connect Bandung- Garut Regency because the road conditions were dangerous so they were advised to continue using the main route across Nagreg, Bandung Regency. "The alternative route is not recommended because the road conditions are very high and decreasing," said Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit AKP Syarif Hidayat in Garut, Thursday, April 20. He said the reason for not recommending to be traversed by travelers was because the incline and its derivatives were quite steep and there were still minimal road facilities, so it was considered dangerous if the driver was not careful.The condition of the road, he said, is quite dangerous for motorists who had just passed through the alternative route. For this reason, it is advisable to continue using the main road which is considered safer and many officers to provide services. "The alternative road is very dangerous for people who do not know the road, it is better to pass the road that has been prepared," he said. He added that the Kadungora-Leles homecoming route is currently ready, which is coupled with the construction of a new road that can overcome congestion on the Kadungora-Tarogong Line. "Alhamdulillah, the Kadungora Line already has a new way. The road is good," he said, quoted by Antara. Garut Regency Transportation Service Head Anwar Saefuloh added his staff with the police and other agencies have made preparations to regulate traffic flow on the homecoming route, including preparing alternative routes to unravel densities on the main route.

However, he said, for the Alternative Route of Kamojang and Cijapati based on cross-sectoral coordination meetings, it is not recommended for travelers, especially those who do not know the condition of the road. "We do not recommend the Kamojang and Cijapati lines because the road conditions are concerning, especially those who do not know the condition of the road," said Kamojang. The alternative route is a road that connects Bandung from the direction of Majalaya and Paseh, Samarang District, Garut Regency. Meanwhile, the Cijapati Alternative Route is a road that connects Cicalengka and Cikancung Districts, Bandung Regency, with Kadungora District, Garut Regency. The two alternative routes, he said, have been usually crossed by local motorists who already know the terrain to avoid congestion on the Nagreg area highway, Bandung Regency to Garut.
