Sign Support Prabowo, Democrats Ask The Ummah Party Not To Doubt Anies' Candidate

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party responded to the statement by the Chairman of the Ummat Party Syuro Council, Amien Rais, who would support Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto if the presidential reading carried by the Change Coalition, Anies Baswedan failed to run as a presidential candidate in 2024. Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party Kamhar Lakumani, asked the Ummat Party not to doubt Anies' candidacy. Because according to him, support for Anies has met the requirements to compete in the 2024 presidential election.

"Amid the efforts of the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) which continued to progress after the signing of the Three-Party Cooperation Charter which agreed and decided to carry out Mas Anies' candidacy, as well as affirming that he had fulfilled and even crossed the presidential threshold, this statement from the Ummat Party was deemed inappropriate," Kamhar told reporters, Monday, April 17.

Kamhar also believes that Amien Rais' statement will not affect the solidity, enthusiasm and morals of the parties who are members of the KPP to continue to strive for Anies' victory in order to realize change and improvement. "There is no place for doubt," said Kamhar.

Kamhar stated that Anies Baswedan and KPP will continue to sail until the 2024 presidential election. He also invited all parties to supervise the implementation of democracy.

"We are optimistic that KPP and Mas Anies will sail. Therefore, we invite all elements of the nation to exercise control of democracy, so that there should be no legal politicization. Do not let the law be used as a tool for the authorities to tackle opponents to smooth out friends," said Kamhar. Previously, the Chairman of the Syuro Council of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais, stated that he would support Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election if Anies was canceled as a presidential candidate.

If the ones who officially become presidential candidates later are Prabowo and Ganjar Pranowo, Amien admits that it is not difficult to make a choice. He will choose Prabowo.

"If you think of it very easy to answer, Pak Prabowo is alwaysice. Yes, what is clear is not Pak Ganjar. Pak Ganjar is a continuity this regime," Amien said in a podcast on Youtube Akbar Faizal Uncensored, recently.
