2,879 Prisoners In Riau Islands Get Eid Remission, 5 Are Immediately Free

TANJUNGPINANG - A total of 2,879 prisoners received special remissions for Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri/2023 AD from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Riau Islands, of which five were immediately released.

"There were 2,879 special remission recipients of Eid al-Fitr, including 2,853 inmates and 26 assisted children," said Head of the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Saffar Muhammad Godam in Tanjungpinang, Saturday.

He said special remissions were remissions given to inmates and foster children during religious holidays. This is a form of the state is present by giving appreciation for all positive achievements for prisoners and foster children and has met the requirements that have been set.

Special remissions for Eid al-Fitr are given to prisoners and children fostered by Muslims who have met administrative and substantive requirements, including having to behave well/not registered on register F or records of disciplinary violations of prisoners.

"Then, he has served a minimum sentence of six months and three months for foster children, as well as actively participating in coaching programs at LPKA/Lapas/Rutan," he said.

Saffar conveyed that the details of the recipients of special remissions I or remissions obtained in part on Eid al-Fitr this year amounted to 2,866 people. Covering Class IIA Tanjungpinang Prison as many as 340 people with remissions obtained 15 days to 2 months.

Next, Batam Class IIA Prison as many as 723 people with the amount of remission obtained 15 days to 2 months. Class IIA Tanjungpinang Narcotics Prison as many as 544 people with the amount of remission obtained 15 days to 2 months.

LPKA Class II Batam as many as 30 people with remissions obtained 15 days to 2 months.

LPP Class IIB Batam as many as 124 people with the amount of remission obtained 15 days to 2 months.

Class III Dabo Singkep prison, as many as 39 people with the amount of remission obtained 15 days to 2 months. Class I Tanjungpinang detention center as many as 194 people with the amount of remission obtained 15 days to 2 months

Rutan Kelas IIA Batam sebanyak 507 orang dengan besaran Remission yang diperoleh 15 hari hingga 2 bulan.

Class IIB Tanjung Balai Karimun detention center is 365 people with a remission amount of 15 days to 2 months.

Meanwhile, there were five recipients of special remission II or immediately released. All inmates at the Class IIA Batam Detention Center.

While special remissions II or are free to undergo subsidies, there are eight people spread across Class IIA Tanjungpinang Prison 1 person, Batam Class IIA Prison 2 people, Tanjungpinang Class IIA Narcotics Prison five people.

"The special remission handover will be carried out on Eid al-Fitr D day at each UPT Lapas/LPKA/Rutan within the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office," concluded Saffar.
