There Are Still 4 Thousand DKI Provincial Government Free Homecoming Registrants Who Have Not Been Accommodated, DKI Transportation Agency Is Looking For Bus Donations

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that currently there are more than 4,000 applicants for free homecoming for the DKI Provincial Government program that have not been accommodated by bus seats.

From the verification results, there are 24 thousand free homecoming registrants this year. Meanwhile, the quota provided by the DKI Provincial Government from the start was only 19,280 people with 484 buses.

Therefore, the DKI Transportation Agency is looking for an additional 17 new buses that can dispatch travelers from third party donations.

"We are coordinating with relevant stakeholders, whether or not anyone can enter (donations) from corporate social responsibility (CSR). Our total need is 17 additional buses," Syafrin told reporters, Thursday, April 13.

So far, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has received 5 bus donations to take travelers from DKI Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD). Thus, there are still 12 buses needed so that all free homecoming registrants can be accommodated.

"Of course we are urging BUMDs to donate CSR to be used as additional buses. If there are private parties who are interested, of course we will collaborate to enter the departure," he explained.

In addition, Syafrin said that his party would ask bus operators who participate in the free homecoming program to increase passenger capacity on the bus.

This is intended so that the free homecoming quota can increase and accommodate more homecoming participants.

"We will communicate with operators to add buses or not and increase capacity without reducing the quality of buses," said Syafrin.

"For example, the number of passengers is 45, then we check again, it can not be increased to 50 passengers. Right, the maximum capacity per bus is 55 (passengers). We are checking specifications and technically without having to violate things that have been arranged in the reference framework," he continued.
