Surprise For Noor Hidayah Orphanage: Visited By Ganjar While Bringing Noodles And Cooking Oil

JAKARTA - Chanting of shalawat welcomed the arrival of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, at the Noor Hidayah Orphanage. Children's voices could be heard shouting accompanied by tambourine music. Their voice grew louder when Ganjar parked his bicycle.

That afternoon, after doing activities at the office, Ganjar took time to exercise, as well as relax by cycling. Along the bustle of the small alleys in the city of Semarang, Ganjar headed for an orphanage located in Dempel Lor, Muktiharjo, Pedurungan.

Chairman of the PA Noor Hidayah Foundation, Sutrisno, said the orphans did not expect the number one person in Central Java to stop at an orphanage whose location was quite hidden. For him and the children, this was an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime moment.

“So happy, never imagined. I didn't think he could visit the Noor Hidayah Foundation," he said.

Sutrisno said, in the orphanage he takes care of, there are around 38 orphans, ranging in age from toddlers to teenagers. There are also foster children who are already in college.

"Moreover, this foundation is located far from urban areas, access is also not easy to reach. If you pass by, you don't necessarily know there is an orphanage, so you don't expect that you will suddenly come and be able to meet the children," he said.

During his visit, Ganjar shared his happiness with the children. Ganjar asked them to sing. The father of one child also listens to the daily stories of the children at the orphanage during Ramadan.

"How happy the children are visited. And they turned out to be brave kids," said Ganjar, Wednesday, April 12.

Not coming empty-handed, Ganjar brought basic necessities to be handed over to the management of the orphanage. Among other things, rice, eggs, instant noodles, cooking oil, dates, children's toys, and stationery.

Visits to orphanages during Ramadan are not the first time this has been done. Previously, Ganjar also visited a number of orphanages and nursing homes. He hopes that his arrival can cheer up the children and the elderly a little, especially to provide a warm atmosphere during Ramadan.

"So that children feel they have friends, have siblings, have a place to return to feel a family, brothers, and sisters, so that they can later have confidence in achieving their goals when they grow up," he explained.

Ganjar also prayed for the health of the caretakers of the Noor Hidayah Orphanage. Because, according to Ganjar, the caretakers at the orphanage are people who have made a big contribution in protecting orphans.

“To the caregivers, again they are people who have great services with their concern. They can protect, and direct our children," said Ganjar.
