Police Name Suspect Of Firecracker Explosion Damaged 1 Elementary School And Mosque In Jepara

The Jepara Police have named one suspect in the explosion case in Kedungmalang Village, Kedung District, Jepara Regency, which is suspected to have come from firecracker powder.

"We have named a suspect with the initials 'HM' a resident of Kedungmalang Village who is the owner of a powder for firecrackers," said Jepara Police Chief AKBP Warsono in Jepara, Central Java, Monday, April 10, as reported by Antara.

Based on the perpetrator's statement, he said, there was an economic motive to be traded.

Meanwhile, the reason the perpetrator put firecracker powder outside, he said, was because when the perpetrator mixed it, it turned out that there was a hot reaction, so the perpetrator took him out of the house.

Then, the concocted firecracker powder was placed in the back corner of the SD Negeri 1 Kedung building.

"When he was placed outside, it turned out that there was a child looking for a bucket. One of them kicked the bucket and then an explosion occurred," he said.

Until now, the perpetrators are still under investigation to ask for information, including the raw materials used to mix firecracker powder obtained from anywhere.

"For initial information on the sale of the hazardous material through COD (cash on delivery) and not mutual knowledge, so it is necessary to do an in-depth investigation," he said. Meanwhile, evidence confiscated from the location of the incident and the suspect's house, namely sulfur, cement, charcoal, aluminum foil, digital scales, paint buckets, several used clothes, and cartridges used for raw material wrappers to make firecracker powders. HM's firecrackers exploded on Sunday 9 April, at around 10.00 WIB. As a result, five houses of local villagers were damaged varying, one SD Negeri 1 building and the mosque were also damaged because the sound of the explosion reached a radius of 1 kilometer. Meanwhile, two children who were injured, namely Rangga, were informed to have burns on his face and chest and were treated at Jepara and Zidan Hospital, were informed to have burns on his hands and feet and treated at the Sunan Kudus Hospital.
