Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo checked the Kepunton Solo Evangelical Bethel Church (GBIS). This is done to check at a number of churches during Easter celebrations.

This check was carried out on Sunday, April 9, Ganjar arrived at the church and will still hold the last Easter service at 17.00 WIB. Ganjar wants to make sure that the Easter celebrations run smoothly without any disturbances.

Ganjar met with several worshipers at the church. To them, Ganjar congratulated them on celebrating Easter in person.

"Yes, this is me at GBIS Kepunton in Solo. So here there is still the last Easter service this afternoon, after previously worshiping at seven and at nine in the morning. Yes, although afternoon worship is not as busy as morning, we see that many worshipers are starting to arrive," said Ganjar.

Apparently, the congregation at the church was not only from Solo. There are also those who come from Wonogiri, Karanganyar and others.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly. Security is also guaranteed, because it is assisted by friends from the police and the TNI who are always on guard. So hopefully it will be smooth and happy Easter for those who celebrate," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the leader of GBIS Pekunton, Pastor Jonathan Jap Setiawan, did not expect Ganjar to visit the church. Because, previously he had not received any notification regarding Ganjar's planned arrival.

"That's why I was surprised, and there was no preparations to welcome Pak Ganjar. But we are happy and grateful Pak Ganjar for coming to this place," he said.

Jonathan explained that the Easter celebration at the GBIS Pekunton church went safely and smoothly. Easter prayers at his church are divided into three sessions, namely morning, afternoon and evening.

"This afternoon is the last service and around 1000 worshipers will attend the service later. The most this morning, and everything went smoothly," he concluded.

For information, the day before, on Saturday (8/4/2023) Ganjar checked the preparations for Easter at the St. Antonius Purbayan Church, Solo.
