Case Of Alleged Extortion Involving Southeast Aceh KIB Chair And Member, DKPP Holds Examination Session

JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) held a trial to examine allegations of illegal levies (extortion) in the recruitment of members of the Voting Committee (PPS) involving the chairman and members of the Independent Election Commission (KIP) of Southeast Aceh Regency. DKPP Secretary Yudia Ramli said the trial was held virtually by presenting the parties, Wednesday, April 5. "The agenda for the trial listened to the statements of the complainants and defendants as well as witnesses or other related parties. The DKPP has properly summoned all parties, namely five days before the examination hearing was held," said Yudia Ramli in a written statement received in Banda Aceh quoted from Antara. The trial was held virtually with the trial assembly in Jakarta and the parties in their respective regions. The code of ethics trial is open to the public. DKPP broadcast this trial through the DKPP Facebook account, @medsosdkpp. Yudi explained that the complainant in the case was Fazriansyah. The complainant complained to the Head of the Southeast Aceh Regency KIP Mhd Safri Desky and four KIP Members of Southeast Aceh Regency, namely Muhammadin, Kaman Sori, Sufriadi, and Fitri Susanti. Fazriansyah also complained about the honorary staff of KIP, Southeast Aceh Regency, named Emyati. According to Fazriansyah, the defendants were suspected of committing extortion to two PPS selection participants in Southeast Aceh Regency. The selection participants handed over Rp. 3 million to the defendants to be released as PPS members. "According to the provisions of DKPP Regulation Number 1 of 2021 concerning the Second Amendment to DKPP Regulation Number 3 of 2017 concerning Guidelines for Certifying the Code of Ethics for General Election Organizers, the trial is chaired by DKPP members and the Aceh Province Regional Examining Team," said Yudia Ramli.
