Gorontalo Police Member Found Dead In Car, Allegedly Due To Suicide

A member of the Gorontalo Regional Police with the initials RF was found dead in a car parked on the side of the Gorontalo Outer Ring Road (GORR) in Ombulo Village, West Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, Saturday, March 25. Head of Public Relations of the Gorontalo Police, Kombes Pol. Wahyu Tri Cahyono said, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at around 05.49 WITA, the Head of Intelligence and Security Unit of the West Limboto Police received information by telephone from the Village Head that on Jalan GORR there was a police official car. The car was allegedly parked since Friday, March 24 with the condition of the car engine in a lit state. Based on this information, the West Limboto Police Intelligence Unit immediately notified the West Limboto Police picket to come to the scene. "After arriving at the location, the police official car was found that the car was alive and the door was locked from inside. The crime scene has also been surrounded by residents who saw the incident," Wahyu said, quoted by Antara. Furthermore, patrols from the Gorontalo Police Traffic Unit arrived at the location and then secured the scene. Satlantas members broke the car glass and found a man in a dead with gunshot wound to the left chest, with a firearm located near the handle of the car handbrake.

"Temporary suspicion, it is suspected that the victim committed suicide by shooting with his right hand. This can be seen from the presence of a scheme on the victim's right hand. However, investigators are still investigating and an autopsy will be carried out on the victim, to determine the cause of the victim's death," Wahyu said. The crime scene results found the facts, the victim was in the driver's seat leaning back. Found five rounds of ammunition on the dashboard of the car at the bottom. Currently, the victim's body has been taken to Aloe Saboe Hospital. Meanwhile, the autopsy will be scheduled for tomorrow, waiting for the presence of a forensic doctor and also the victim's parents from Semarang, Central Java.
