Megawati Is Happy Because The 2020 Pilkada Is Safe And Orderly

JAKARTA - PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri appreciates the government and election management institutions for successfully implementing the 2020 Pilkada simultaneously. This is because the implementation of the Pilkada amid the COVID-19 pandemic is running peacefully.

This was conveyed by Megawati through the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kritiyanto when he reported the situation of the 2020 Pilkada.

"When I reported this afternoon to Mrs. Megawati, she gave her appreciation to the government and election management institutions for successfully holding the 2020 regional head elections," said Hasto in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, December 9.

"Ms. Megawati also appreciates the TNI-Polri and ASN officers who help order and secure the 2020 Pilkada," he added.

Furthermore, Hasto also said that his party appreciated the people who were willing to come to the polling stations (TPS) to use their voting rights even though the COVID-19 pandemic was currently happening. In addition, he assessed, the General Election Commission (KPU) directives regarding health protocols to prevent virus transmission had been carried out well in this process.

"We appreciate how the community still adheres to health protocols. Likewise the officers in the field who try to ensure that the health protocol is still implemented. There are no crowds going to or at the TPS. PDIP sees that people are becoming more mature in politics and exercising their voting rights," he said.

After the 2020 Pilkada was completed, Hasto then explained the reasons for his party asking that this election process be held. According to him, this election has made leadership in the regions continue and made the handling of COVID-19 more maximized by the definitive leader.

"Since the beginning, the PDIP has reminded us that leadership in the regions needs a definitive one not being held by the task force. (This, red) is precisely to ensure the effectiveness of the work together of all the nation's children in dealing with COVID-19," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the monitoring center for the 2020 Pilkada, Hasto said, this was done at the PDIP DPP office by integrating all counting rooms coordinated by the PDIP National Election Witness Body (BSPN).
