KUDUS - As many as three teachers at SMP 3 Jekulo, Kudus Regency, Central Java, were declared dead due to exposure to COVID-19. Teaching and learning activities online (online) were also temporarily suspended.

"Even though the deaths of the three teachers did not coincide, the results of the throat swab tests were confirmed positive for COVID-19 and each of them had comorbidities," said Spokesperson for the Task Force for the Acceleration and Handling of COVID-19 Kudus, Andini Aridewi in Kudus. quoted Antara, Tuesday, December 1.

According to Andini, the Task Force for the Acceleration and Handling of COVID-19 Kudus, according to Andini, immediately followed up on the positive COVID-19 swab test results by conducting close contact tracing.

Andini noted that there are 43 teachers at SMP 3 Jekulo who have to undergo a throat swab test to ensure they are exposed to COVID-19.

Contact tracing was not only carried out in SMP 3 Jekulo, but each family member of the three teachers who died was also carried out to ensure whether there is transmission in the family environment.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Kudus Regency Youth and Sports Education Office, Harjuna Widada, revealed that he had asked the local school to temporarily stop teaching and learning activities while waiting for the results of the throat swab test.

"We also instructed the local school principal to make a chronology and record of the journey of each teacher who died so that it could be used as input for the agency, especially when previously someone had traveled to another area," he said.

Initially, the Disdikpora Kudus only received reports of one teacher who died the previous weekend, then received reports of an additional two teachers who died earlier this week.

The principal of SMP 3 Jekulo Wiwik Purwati ensured that no student had contact with the teacher at the school because the learning was carried out online.
