Jerinx Sentenced To 14 Months In Prison, This Is A Punishment For Drummer SID

DENPASAR - Musician I Gede Ari Astina or known as Jerinx was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment and a fine of Rp10 million subsidiary to 1 month in prison. There were a number of things that were against the Jerinx SID decision.

"The defendant's actions made the doctors feel uncomfortable, who were aggressively struggling to deal with COVID-19," said the judge while reading out the judgment during the Jerinx SID verdict trial at the Denpasar District Court, Thursday, November 19.

"The defendant had left the courtroom to protest the online trial, in which the act was not supposed to be carried out because it injured the court," said the judge.

While mitigating matters in the consideration of Jerinx's decision, the drummer of SID is considered to often carry out social activities. Jerinx is also the backbone of the family.

"The defendant has apologized to IDI," said the judge.

Jerinx was found guilty of spreading hate speech related to the post 'IDI Kacung WHO' on his Instagram account. There are two Jerinx posts on the @jrxsid account in question, namely the posts on June 13 and June 15. According to the judge, Jerinx deliberately and without the right to spread information that caused hatred or hostility to individuals or groups of the community, namely the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) in Bali.

"The defendant understands and realizes the impact of the post will be crowded on social media considering the public figure as the drummer for Superman Is Dead," said the judge.
