1,000 Children From Papua Will Be Recruited To Enter BUMN

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) targets to recruit 1,000 Papuan and West Papuan sons and daughters in the BUMN Joint Recruitment Program.

Deputy for Human Resources, Technology and Information at the Ministry of BUMN Alex Denni said that the program will be carried out until next December. It is targeted that 1,000 people will be placed in various BUMNs.

"God willing, we will keep trying to recruit until the end of this year, and if we do not meet the target, we will continue next year," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 28.

In this recruitment process, Alex Denni said that his party was assisted by the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI). It is hoped that in December, the best sons and daughters of Papua and West Papua will be able to work.

"It is expected that by early December we will be able to board," said Denni.

He believes this program will create economic equality as the government's goal. "We really appreciate the commitment shown by our BUMN," he said.

He said that the even distribution of national development which was emphasized in the Papua and West Papua regions by the Joko Widodo administration certainly required comprehensive readiness. Especially the development of human resources as part of the connoisseurs and actors of this development, local sons and daughters from Papua and West Papua must be prepared.

Muklis Nabi, from the Sebyar tribe in Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua is an example. The former part-time pharmacy keeper received a scholarship from Teluk Bintuni Regency to study at the Bintuni Bay Oil and Gas Industrial Engineering Training Center, or better known as P2TIM.

He hopes the Papuan and other Bintuni children can follow in their footsteps and their seniors who have already started on the national and international stage.
