Moeldoko And Ganjar Ask The Hospital To Be Honest About Data On Death Of COVID-19 Patients

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Head of the Presidential Staff Office Moeldoko asked the hospital to be honest about patient death data during the COVID-19 pandemic so as not to cause unrest in the community.

"Earlier, I had a lot of discussions with the Governor, one of which was about redefining cases of death during the pandemic. We have to look at this definition again, so that all patient deaths are always said to be due to COVID-19," said Moeldoko in Semarang, Thursday, reported by Antara. , October 1.

He revealed that initially he came to meet Ganjar Pranowo to discuss a number of matters related to handling COVID-19 and current issues, referral hospitals 'COVID-19' all patients who died to get a budget from the government.

Moeldoko said that there have been many cases, people are ordinary sick or have accidents, defined as dying from COVID-19 by the hospital handling it, even though the test results were negative.

"This needs to be straightened out so that it does not benefit those who want to take advantage of this definition," he said.

Ganjar confirmed that this issue and caused unrest in the community had already happened in Central Java.

"Earlier, Mr. Moeldoko asked, how come there are many assumptions that all who died in hospitals were 'COVID-infected'. This has already happened in Central Java, some people are estimated that COVID-19 continues to die, even though the test results have not come out. After the results came out, it turned out to be negative. It's a pity, these are examples so we can fix this, "he said.

To anticipate this, Ganjar emphasized that he had held a meeting with the ranks of the COVID-19 referral hospitals in Central Java and related parties which were then decided, to determine or expose patient death data must be verified first.

"In all hospitals where a patient dies, the doctor's authority must provide a record of what death has been caused. The record must be given to us, for us to verify and provide a statement out," he said.

With this system, Ganjar admitted that there would be delays in data regarding the death rate.

"The data delay is better than something unwanted," said Ganjar.
