God Bless 50 Years Gold Concert: Mapan Rock Music Performance

JAKARTA - The 50 Years old with Tohpati Orchestra Gold Concert God Bless shows very clearly that the rock music stage is still the most prestigious in music performances.

In celebration of 50 years of work, God Bless with the formation of Achmad Albar (vocals), Donny Fattah (bass), Ian Antono (guitar), Abadi Soesman (keyboards), and Fajar Satritama (drums), appeared to entertain thousands of spectators who filled Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta on Friday, November 10 night.

Opened with Padi Reborn's performance performing five songs, God Bless appeared on stage at around 20.00 WIB, complete with the orchestra led by Tohpati behind them.

Musician and Bla... Bla... Bla... opened the appearance of God Bless which will amaze the audience over the next two hours. The screams and calls of the audience calling for the name Iyek, as Achmad Albar is called, turned into a big choir.

Quality rock music performances have been shown since God Bless performed the initial repertoire. The distortion of the guitar, the playing of the drums, the tearing of bass, the splendor of the sound of keyboards and orchestras, luxurious lighting, large screens, pyrotechnics, to the correct loudspeaker system blended well on stage.

Meanwhile, in front of the stage and stands, the response of the audience was no less exciting, ranging from screaming, hugging upwards, brandishing heads, and those who sang along, showing strong interactions between musicians and listeners.

After performing two songs, Donny Fattah, who is not in the best condition due to his illness, had to return to the back stage and be replaced by Arya Setyadi.

"Donny has to go down because he is not too healthy, please pray," said Achmad Albar, who then continued the concert with the songs Selamat Pagi Indonesia, Pulau Matahari, Cermin, and March 1989.

After playing six distorted songs, God Bless performed some of his best ballad songs, Balada One Million Faces, Syair Life, Never mind I Go, And Huma Pukit.

God Bless's appearance became tantamount with a large screen that appeared from above and covered their presence on stage. Fifty years of their journey were shown in videos played on the screen.

Furthermore, the guest musicians and singers who had previously been announced appeared one by one on stage.

Eet Sjahranie, started his appearance with a typical solo guitar attraction featured on the big rock music stage. Together with Kotak, the former God Bless guitarist performed the song Srigala Street.

Then, Kaka Slank performed Zakia's song which made the singer sing and sway. Meanwhile, Anggun C Sasmi performed with Dreams, and Nicky Astria performed the Sandiwara Stage.

In the last four repertoires, God Bless performed songs that were subscribed to the ears of the Indonesian people. Achmad Albar returned to the stage and brought the City Bus with Anggun and Nicky Astria, before continuing with Life and the Black Ant (back with Eet).

Donny Fattah returned to the stage on the last repertoire. God Bless performed the song Rumah Kita and sang it with everyone who filled Istora Senayan.

God Bless did not appear like a rocker full of energy by controlling the entire stage corner. With the accompaniment of the orchestra, they appeared by displaying splendor and stability. It is very clear that what was displayed was the fruit of a long journey of 50 years of music.

With the age of more than 70 personnel, except for Fajar Satritama, God Bless appeared with high precision, and an interlude of complicated and long songs that entertained the listeners.

What God Bless showed was in accordance with what Kaka Slank said during a press conference last month. He called the Indonesian rock music legend an inspiration for many Indonesian musicians. If you want to see a cool band, you don't have to go all the way out (of the country), Indonesia has God Bless.
