JAKARTA - P!nk shared the story behind the drug overdose he studied at the age of 16, just weeks before signing his first record contract.

In his recent appearance at 60 Minutes, the singer opened a conversation about his problematic household life.

'I am a punk kid. I have a mouth. There is a problem on my shoulder,' P!nk started it.

"Basically, I grew up in a house where every day my parents shouted at each other, threw things at each other, hated each other. And then I fell into drugs, I sold drugs and then I was kicked out of the house, I dropped out of school. I was out of the way, "he continued.

An important incident occurred in November 1995, recalls Pink. "Thanksgiving in 1995, I overdosed. I was enjoying it, oh son ecstasy, angel dust, crystal, all kinds of things," he shared. Then I came out. Done. Too much."

Host Cecilia Vega asked P!nk if she nearly died of an overdose, and Pink replied, "Yes."

Shortly after the overdose, he was offered a slot on the hip-hop night in exchange for a deal with DJ.

He was offered a record contract with LaFace Records as part of the short-lived girl group R&B Choice soon after, before starting his solo career in 2000.
