Dave Mustaine Praises Teemu Mantysaari: The Game Is Very Similar To Marty Friedman

JAKARTA - In an interview with Wes Styles recently, Dave Mustaine spoke about Megadeth's new tour guitarist, Teemu M calmntysaari (Wintersun, Smackbound).

Teemu replaces guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who since the beginning of this month has been absent from the "Crush The World" Megadeth tour so he can stay at home with his children in Finland.

Asked how Teemu has performed so far, Dave said.

"He's really great. And I'm really excited about what Teemu has brought. And that's amazing because he's playing so much like [former Megadeth guitarist] Marty [Friedman] And that's really exciting," Dave responded.

"At some times I just closed my eyes on set and I just heard these songs played, whether like the old Kiko or Teemu now, it sounds really magical because these people have learned these songs and they don't just come out and play their guitars; they actually learn solos from some virtuosos who have played with me during my career," he continued.

Megadeth played his first concert with Mbakyntysaari on September 6 at Revel in feasibility, New Mexico.

36-year-old Mohyntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and started playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band aired. He has also been a member of Smackbound since 2015.

Meanwhile, Loureiro officially joined Megadeth in April 2015, about five months after Chris Brodeck's release from the band.

Shortly after Loureiro joined Megadeth, Mustaine called him "the best guitarist we ever had." His comments echoed comments he made about Brodeck during his tenure in the band.

In 2013, at the time of making Megadeth's Super Collider album, Mustaine wrote in a tweet that Chris "is undoubtedly the best guitarist I've ever played with."
