John Lydon Calls AI Threat And Very Dangerous

JAKARTA - John Lydon shared his opinion on AI (artificial intelligence). He said, "in the end it will make a decision for you, and it is very dangerous".

The Frontman Public Image Ltd talked about the latest developments in technology in a new interview with The Guardian.

When asked about his views on the ever-increasing impact of AI on art, Lydon said.

Who is responsible and who provides information and provides guidelines for this intelligence? What or where is the moral code? It has infiltrated the minds of young people now until it reaches a point of total dominance. What will this make?" he said.

My advice is to make small steps against this and take out Siri [the smart personal assistant developed by Apple Inc.] it's crazy or whatever from your home. It will eventually make a decision for you, and it's very dangerous," he continued.

Lydon's comments come just days after Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones also criticized the use of artificial intelligence in songwriting.

Earlier this year, Nick Cave also called the writing of ChatGPT and AI songs a "strange endeavor on what it means to be human".

Recently, Sting said AI "didn't impress him" and songwriters had to keep "our human capital against AI".

Billy Corgan of Smashinguan also said "AI will change music forever" because other people can "play the system" and "not spend 10,000 hours in the basement."
