JAKARTA - The SmashingGods shared an official video clip for the song Spellbinding which was taken from their trilogy album, Atum.
In this video clip, director Kevin Kerslake collaborates with Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and Jeff banyak to create digital avatars of themselves, which are in the fictional universe, namely Atum, created by frontman and band founder Corgan.
"We adopted a virtual production model for the Spellbinding video clip, completely making this video on a gaming machine; it's not real, with digital avatars moving through the wording world playing a key role in the Atum storyline. Billy and I are both interested in the combination of old world elements with advanced technology, and all stars are aligned in this video to make new breakthroughs," Kerslake spoke of the creation of this video clip in an official statement.
The presence of the video clip of Spellbinding coincided with the launch of the North American tour of Simishingwas, The World Is A Vampire, which began June 28 at The Chelsea in Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
Produced by Live Nation, today's 27-day tour will feature special guests Interpol, Stone Temple Pilots, and Rival Sons as supporters on various dates.
Meanwhile, sequels to the album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (1995) and Machina/Machine Of God (2000), Atum performed 33 songs in three rounds and were written and produced by Corgan over the past four years.
