JAKARTA - PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has officially introduced the Omoda 5 GT, the peak variant of this series for the Indonesian market. This manufacturer emphasizes the sporty design and performance of this SUV.

Not only offering more powerful performance, but the 5 GT Omoda is also equipped with a number of features that improve the driving experience for consumers, including various driving modes.

"This vehicle will provide an extraordinary driving experience, with six driving modes specifically designed to adapt to various road conditions in Indonesia," said Qu Jizong, Executive Vice President of PT CSI, as quoted from a statement received by VOI on Thursday, October 5.

Chery, a Chinese manufacturer, provides six driving modes in this SUV, namely Eco, Normal, Sport, Mud, Snow, and Off-Road.

Eco mode aims to optimize fuel efficiency while still supporting environmentally friendly driving styles. This mode is the most saved mode offered by Chery.

Then, Normal mode is perfect for everyday use, providing comfort during the trip.

Meanwhile, Sport mode is suitable for users who want high performance and drive in an aggressive style. This mode provides acceleration with a fast response.

The 'Mud' or mud mode is useful when facing muddy and extreme terrain. The car will have maximum traction when crossing a muddy area.

Furthermore, Snow mode is useful for wet and slippery road surfaces or similar to snowy road conditions. This helps users get maximum traction in this situation.

Finally, Off-Road mode is a more extreme driving option. This mode allows Omoda 5 GT to overcome difficult terrains, such as remote and hilly roads that are difficult to reach.

The 5 GT Chery Omoda is available in two types of driving, namely Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive. The AWD variant has a 19-inch rim with the All Black color, while the FWD has an 18-inch rim with a sporty orange accent.

In addition to improving its advanced performance and features, Chery is also paying attention to safety aspects. The SUV has received safety test certification from the Australian NCAP and is equipped with six airbags.

The 5 GT medium is powered by a 1.6 liter turbo TGDI engine which produces 197 dk of power and 290 Nm of torque, and uses the Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) substitution system.

Despite having a powered engine, Chery still pays attention to fuel efficiency with the Intelligent Combustion System (iHEC) system which reaches consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 km. The SUV is also equipped with a Multilink suspension for a more comfortable driving experience.

PT CSI will soon sell this SUV at a price starting at IDR 448.8 million for the FWD variant and IDR 488.8 million for the AWD variant. Orders have been opened since the inaugural launch at the end of last September.
