Honda EM1 E: Only Available In Java And Bali, This Is What AHM Said

JAKARTA - PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) recently released its first electric motorbike in Indonesia, EM1 e:, at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

The presence of EM1 e: in Indonesia brings Honda into competition in the electric motorcycle market in the country, dealing with brands such as United, Alva, Selis, and others who have released similar vehicles first.

However, Honda chose not to rush into expanding sales of this electric motorcycle in Indonesia. Currently, Honda EM1 e: only available in Java and Bali.

PT AHM Executive Vice President, Thomas Wijaya, explained that his party wanted to see the public's response to EM1 e: after the launch.

"We still want to see how much enthusiasm the community has for EM1 e:," said Thomas at the GIIAS 2023 event at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Friday, August 11.

If EM1 e: gets a positive response from the community, AHM plans to expand its sales coverage in various regions in Indonesia.

"If the enthusiasm is good, it will likely be expanded," added Thomas.

EM1 e: is Honda's first step in adopting electrification technology. This motorbike comes with a futuristic design and advanced technology that will provide convenience for customers. The presence of this motorbike has been long awaited since it was first introduced in Indonesia in February.

This electric motorbike is equipped with LED lighting in all sections. To meet customer needs, Honda EM1 e: equipped with a storage rack and USB type A charger. The instrument panel used is digital and displays various information such as speed, distance, clock, trip meter, and power mode that can be selected.

One of the advantages of Honda EM1 e: is the battery capability that can be replaced with the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: which is a source of power for this bike.

Battery charging can be done with a span of 2.7 hours for 25-75 percent and 6 hours for charging from 0 to 100 percent. Consumers can visit the Honda Power Excharger e charging station: to exchange the battery to full.

With a battery capacity of 1.3 kWh, Honda EM1 e: has a power range of up to 53 km in one charge. Powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 2.3 dk, this motor is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 45 km/hour.

In detail, the price of the EM1 e motorbike is between Rp. 30 million to Rp. 33 million, while the MPP e: the MPP battery is priced between Rp. 10 million to Rp. 12 million. Honda EM1 e: will be sold through the Honda dealers network equipped with the e: shop logo.
