Honda Signals Future EV Emergence Through Promotion Videos

JAKARTA - Different from rival manufacturers, Honda is one of the automotive manufacturers that is quite lagging behind in the development of electric vehicles. However, they have launched a strategy plan to bring more environmentally friendly mobility in the future.

This is evidenced by the presence of various models from the e:N Series consisting of the Honda e:NP2 Prototype, Honda e:NS2 Prototype, Honda e:N SUV, and Honda e:N GT Concept in the 2023 Shanghai Auto event.

Reaffirming its commitment, Honda recently released a promo video entitled "Kep Dreaming, Monday, October 2 with a duration of 60 seconds. The Japanese manufacturer features a gasoline-engine Civic CVCC model in the 1970s. Then, proceed to the first generation hybrid Insight model, as well as hydrofuel-powered Clarity. Reported by InsideEVs, Tuesday, October 3, the video features an EV sedan, then instantly the car transforms into another model that looks like a medium-dimensional crossover.

The sedan is thought to take inspiration from the concept of e:N2 which was introduced last year. Then, a blue SUV is displayed with a Prologue-like design. However, the model is expected to be one of Honda's 10 EVs to be marketed in China in the next four years.

All models from the e:N series will be marketed in the Bamboo Curtain country by carrying the latest platform from a special electric vehicle manufacturer, namely e:N Architecture F. Honda, which is also rumored to reach 100 percent of its electric-based car sales by 2035 in China.

Globally, manufacturers have plans to present the 30 new EV models planned to be sold starting in 2030. Honda is committed to addressing global environmental and energy issues by seeking to realize carbon neutrality for all company products and activities by 2050.

To achieve that goal, Honda will try to make electric battery-electric electric vehicles and fuel cells represent 100 percent of its car sales in the world.
