Complaints Of Swelling Water Bills Not Resolved, Thomas Ramdhan Feels Extorted

JAKARTA - Thomas Ramdhan revealed his bad experience with PT Tirta Asasta Depok as a company tasked with distributing clean water in Depok City. Through his Instagram account, the Gigi bassist uploaded a video and told how the water bill suddenly rose in the eighth month of use.

After filing a complaint and being visited by officers at home, Thomas was still not satisfied because his water bill still swelled.

He feels like a consumer, his complaints are not handled properly. Furthermore, Thomas felt blackmailed when he had to pay water bills of up to millions even though their use was minimal.

"So, if it's for me, I end up google, then there are words (on the official website of PT Tirta Asasta Depok) if the water is to make me prosperous. For me, where is the word prosperous if that's the case," Thomas said in his uploaded video, seen Friday, November 10.

"I personally, honestly, because I'm both at home, not making it up, and everyone has evidence, it's like being blackmailed, arbitrarily," he continued.

Feeling that he was deadlocked even though he had submitted a complaint, Thomas Ramdhan hoped that through the video uploaded to the public, there were related parties who wanted to participate in solving the problem. The reason is, it is not impossible that a similar incident happened to other Depok residents.

"Maybe with this video, I ask related agencies, who are in the Depok area, who are authorized, local government or mayor, maybe this is just an example. I'm grateful if that's what I think," said Thomas Ramdhan.

At the end of the video, the man who is familiarly called Sameoth again expressed his dissatisfaction with PT Tirta Asasta Depok's services. He asked the company to pay more attention to consumers.

"But, for me, if the service is like this, it's really bad. Why, because it's not worth it, it really doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully with this video, I as a consumer can be considered better," said Thomas Ramdhan.
