Lil Tay Reveals He's Still Alive, Social Media Account Hacked

JAKARTA - Rapper and internet celebrity Lil Tay stated that he was still alive. He said his social media account posts were the result of hacking from irresponsible parties.

"I want to emphasize that my brother and I are in a safe and living position, but I am very hurt, and it is difficult to find the right words," Lil Tay said in a personal statement to TMZ.

"This is very traumatizing 24 hours. All yesterday. I was bombarded with calls that did not end from loved ones while taking care of this chaotic situation," he said.

Lil Tay explained that his Instagram account was hacked by a third party so that the news of his death spread, although he was actually still alive.

My Instagram account was used by a third party and used to spread information and rumors about me, to the point that my name was wrong, continued Lil Tay.

"My legal name is Tay Tian, not Claire Hope," he said.

The news of Lil Tay's death was confirmed by the family to one of the media. Then the statement was shared via Instagram on Wednesday, August 9.

Not alone, Lil Tay's brother is also said to have died, so his family feels sorry for the departure of their two family members.

Lil Tay is one of the small rappers who grew up on Instagram. The various videos he shares show himself often showing off his lifestyle, one of which is when he buys a luxury car of 200 thousand US dollars even though he doesn't have a driving license (SIM).

In 2018, his life was in the spotlight in the documentary Life With Lil Tay. The year was also Lil Tay's last year active on Instagram.

His last post was a condolences to rapper XXXTentacion who died in the same year.

It was later discovered that Lil Tay's disappearance on social media was related to a custody conflict between his parents. However, neither his parents nor Lil Tay shared stories about the conflict on social media.

Apart from custody, Lil Tay's parents also fought over the child's income that he had at a young age. One of them was when Lil Tay answered the interview and said his father threatened him if he did not return to Canada.
