Ashley Campbell Concert Realizes Ambon City Of Music

JAKARTA - United States musician Ashley Campbell's music concert and the band was successfully held in Ambon, Friday, July 7. This concert is expected to realize efforts to make world peace from Ambon City of Music.

"The music concert held by this musician from the United States can be used as a world peace tool and has an effect on Ambon as the World Music City," said Ambon Mayor Bodew Wattimena, Friday, July 7.

He said, in the UNESCO version of the World Music City network, Ambon seeks to make music a culture that moves towards the future of creative cities, and makes culture an identity and entity answer urban problems within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) solution in 2030.

Therefore, Ashley Campbell's music concert agenda in Ambon further strengthens ecosystem music which has an impact on the development of Ambon City in various aspects.

"We certainly hope that this music concert will be an important moment for us, at least to unite a common understanding that we need the creativity of collaboration networks to continue to realize the branding Ambon City Of Music," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Deputy Chancellor III for Student Affairs and Alumni of Pattimura University Yusuf Madubun said, one of the national education goals in Indonesia is to realize the profile of Pancasila students, one of which is global diversity.

"This means that we as Indonesians must love the country, ideology and must also openly accept loving and understanding the culture of other nations," he also said.

Through this music concert, he said, it becomes an exchange of cultures to understand each other because music is a universal language, so we will all certainly live with our hearts and with universal music.

"Music as a universal language for all of us will unite us in true peace, so it is hoped that an event like this can build lasting peace in human life," said Yusuf.

Deputy Public Affairs Officer of the United States Consulate Wouter Housen added that concerts in Ambon were part of a cultural exchange program from the United States Consulate General in Surabaya in collaboration with the American Corner of Pattimura University and supported by Ambon Music Office.

Through a music concert, Ambon became the last city, so it is expected to be a vehicle to introduce music from the United States.

"This is an event to bring different people together through music, and learn from each other, including through traditional American music," he also said.
