JAKARTA - Different from the previous month, there were only five new Korean dramas in July. Some of the titles that began airing last June continued in the seventh month while five titles will arrive afterward.

Lee Sung Min is back in the lead through Shadow Detective 2, as well as Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan who continue their journey in DP 2. Two titles are eagerly awaited by the audience after success in the first part.

The Uncanny Counter is also preparing to return with the second part and several new actors. Apart from Jo Byong Gyu, this drama presents a series of new names.

Here are the 5 latest Korean dramas that aired in July 2023:

Kim Tae Rok (Lee Sung Min) is a veteran detective at the Geumo Police who is looking forward to retirement. One day he receives a call from someone claiming to be his old friend. Threat attacks continued to haunt Kim Tae Rok until he chose to return to the investigation including finding out who the phone extorter was.

Besides Lee Sung Min, Shadow Detective 2 will star Kyung Soo Jin, Lee Hak Joo, Kim Shin Rok, Jung Jin Young, Joo Jin Mo, and others. Shadow Detective 2 will premiere July 5, 2023 on Disney+.

Eun Mi (Jeon Hye Jin) became a single parent when she was in high school. He takes care of his son Jin Hee alone. Now Eun Mi is 40 years old as a therapist and Jin Hee (Sooyoung) is 29 years old as a police officer. Every day the two of them always fight even though they only have each other.

Their lives changed after Jin Hong (Ahn Jae Wook) appeared before Eun Mi, while Jae Won (Park Sung Hoon) appeared in Jin Hee's life. Strangers have 12 episodes and air from 17 July.

DP tells the story of An Joon Ho's army (Jung Hae In) who is transferred to the Desertir Search division in the military. Joon Ho was assigned to search for soldiers who escaped from the camp under the orders of Park Beom Gu (Kim Sung Kyun) and served with Han Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan).

The second season will continue the story from the first season where An Joon Ho and Han Ho Yeol were again tasked with looking for designers. DP 2 is still directed by Han Jun Hee which was released on July 28 on Netflix.

The evil spirit arrives on earth to search for my neck. A group of counter groups was again tasked with eradicating evil spirits. Choi Jang Mol (Ahn Suk Hwan), So Moon (Jo Byeong Gyu), Do Ha Na (Kim Sejeong), Ga Mo Tak (Yoo Joon Sang), and Choo Mae Ok (Yeom Hye Ran) unite to fight evil spirits and welcome new members Na Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo).

On the other hand, the criminal group will be played by the Gwang (Kang Ki Young),GGly (Kim Hieora), and Wing (Kim Hyun Wook). Their action can be watched on The Uncanny Counter 2 which airs July 29 on tvN and Netflix.

Mok Sol Hee (Kim So Hyun) has the ability to find out if someone is lying or not. He feels his ability is a curse because in the end he can't trust anyone. One day, Mok Sol Hee was involved with the alleged murder suspect, Kim Do Ha (Minhyun).

Kim Do Ha insists he is innocent, but no one around him believes it. Mok Sol Hee was also challenged to solve the Kim Do Ha case. My Lovely Liar will air starting July 31, 2023.
