JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) through the Mobile Cinema program seeks to revive the film ecosystem and invite the younger generation to be involved in the ecosystem.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno in a press statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, said that the Mobile Cinema activity could be a good step to realize the vision and mission of this year's Monthly Film Festival.

"We are optimistic that Mobile Cinema can be one of the strategies to move the film ecosystem in the regions because we go directly to the community, invite people to participate, as well as appreciate the work of local filmmakers (sineas)," Sandiaga said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

Mobile Cinema Activities are part of the Monthly Film Festival program which invites the younger generation to watch films regularly held every month. This time, Mobile Cinemas were held at the Kerang Theater, Indonesian Education Museum, University of Indonesian Education (UPI), Bandung, West Java, after being held in Yogyakarta some time earlier

In accordance with the motto of Mobile Cinema, namely #AyoNontonFilm, Sandiaga explained that the program is an effort to disseminate and introduce short films by the nation's children to the public. Thus, short films are expected to be an alternative spectacle that is popular with the wider community.

The implementation of the second Mobile Cinema is the result of collaboration between the Monthly Film Festival and the Bandung UPI and the Bandung Indonesian Cultural Arts Institute (ISBI). The collaboration was carried out as a form of appreciation for the films selected at the locus 2 Monthly Film Festival which was the work of students of the UPI Bandung Film and Television Study Program.

Mobile Cinema activity was held for three consecutive days from March 31 to April 2, 2023. The films that were screened in the activity included "Semayam", "Maramba", "Geminang", "State Time", "Memorabilia", "We", "Krenteg", "Balek", "Rindu Drown", "Merajut Goodbye", "Romansa Behind the Trick Fence" and "Segara Prison".

In addition, there is also a short film representative of the UPI Film and Television Student Association entitled " DAD I Just Wanna Say Something" and "Talking In Silence", as well as the film "One Night All After" from the ISBI Bandung Television and Film Student Family.
