PSBB Submission Accepted, Now It's Anies' Turn To Move Quickly To Make The Rules

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ombudsman Representative of Greater Jakarta urged DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to immediately issue a rule or legal basis for the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). Because, as of today, Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto has designated DKI as an area with PSBB status.

Head of the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative of Jakarta Raya, Teguh Nugroho, said that the regulations made by the Governor would become the legal basis for implementing the PSBB. The contents are about activities or programs that all DKI residents must carry out to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

"The regulation includes calculating budget support for the people affected by the PSBB policy," Teguh told reporters, Tuesday, April 7.

This legal basis, said Teguh, must be enforced immediately. This is because the Minister of Health Regulation (PMK) Number 9 of 2020 does not explain in detail the implementation and sanctions for those who violate the PSBB.

Teguh confirmed that DKI had actually enforced a number of regulations in the PMK PSBB since three weeks ago. This includes closing schools, closing tourist attractions, stopping religious activities, and calling on all companies to implement a work from home policy for their employees.

However, looking at the trend of the spread, the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta is still increasing every day. As of today, the number of positive cases stands at 1,395. There are 127 additional cases from yesterday. DKI is also the region with the highest COVID-19 transmission in Indonesia.

After the regulation is published, Anies is obliged to announce every policy in detail and detail. This is intended for the public to understand the details of the policy to avoid commotion and panic.

"This rule can also make law enforcement officers carry out their duties and authorities in supporting policies during the implementation of the PSBB by taking firm and measured actions," said Teguh.

Jabodetabek restrictions need to be done

Furthermore, Teguh asked Anies to coordinate with regional heads of the Jabodetabek area, namely the Governors of West Java and Banten, to discuss restrictions on the mobility of people in and out of Jakarta.

This is because there are millions of people mobilizing in the buffer zone (Bodetabek) who move around Jakarta every day because there is no explicit prohibition regarding restrictions on access to mobilization.

"The high daily mobility of this buffer area will accelerate the spread of COVID-19, not only in the DKI area, but also to the surrounding buffer cities," Teguh said.

In addition, Teguh also asked the Head of the National Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, Doni Monardo, to propose a special policy related to PSBB in the Jabodetabek area, and ensure that there are synergistic and effective policies in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
