Ministry Of Transportation: SIMKAPEL Application Provides Ease Of Subscription Service

The Ministry of Transportation, through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, said that the Shipship and Marine Management Information System (SIMKAPEL) since its launch in 2020 has provided a solution to the ease of shipping and marine services in a professional, effective and efficient manner.

Ease is addressed to ship owners/operators and business actors in the shipping and marine sectors that are integrated into one service platform.

Along with the dynamics of digital transportation, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation brought SIMKAPEL to continue to innovate in response to the development of community needs.

"One of the implementations is through the provision of ship mortgage services through the SIMKAPEL application," said Director General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, Capt Antoni Arif Priadi in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 20.

In the Reconciliation of Indonesian Ship Data and Ship Hipotek Service Launching through the Simkapel Application, Antoni said this activity was held to adjust to the changing regulations, and facilitate and improve services for the implementation of ship registration and national activities.

With the presence of mortgage services through SIMKAPEL, the practice of good governance continues to be echoed by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation.

"Sertification services and digital-based ship documents for all stakeholders in the field of shipping and marine services that are transparent and efficient can minimize corrupt practices, gratuities and illegal levies," he said.

Antoni also highlighted the loading of mortgages on ships as part of the activity of organizing ship legal status with the principle of publicity. This means that each party can request information on the ship that has been registered.

"To be able to provide the latest information, the documentation must be carried out properly and correctly. Therefore, registrant officials and ship name registrants must be able to provide registration and national services for ships with legal certainty," he explained.

Director of Anti-Corruption of the KPK Business Entity Aminudin appreciated the innovation of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation in an effort to prevent criminal acts of corruption, bribery and gratification through system improvements.

"This is a concrete form of collaboration between the KPK and regulators, with ministries/agencies. There are not many efforts to improve the system in the context to prevent corruption are responded to as quickly as friends have done at the Ministry of Transportation," said Aminudin.

He added that the system that had been well developed should not be damaged by the lure of business actors who carry out document processing.

"Services must be provided with the same standards for all applicants. This is an illustration that what we are building is the ecosystem that prevents corruption. It requires the involvement of many parties, namely apart from regulators and business actors," he said.
