Thousands Of Kupang Residents Welcome The Body Of The Archbishop Of Ende
KUPANG - Thousands of residents of Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) welcomed the body of Archbishop Ende Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota (72) when he arrived from Jakarta at El Tari Kupang Airport.
Archbishop Ende Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota (72) died while undergoing medical treatment at St Carolus Hospital, Jakarta on Sunday (19/11) at 18.21 WIB.
Acting Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Province Ayodhia GL Kalake together with the Archbishop of Kupang, Mgr Petrus Turang and former Deputy Governor of NTT Josef Nae Soi, Commander of El Tari Air Base Kupang Marsma TNI Aldrin P Mongan participated in welcoming the body of Archbishop Ende Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota (72).
After arriving in Kupang, the body of Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota was buried in the Catholic Church of Santo Yoseph, a Penfui Worker for a spirit mass led directly by the Archbishop of Kupang, Mgr Petrus Turang, followed by clergy and Catholics in Kupang City.
The Archbishop of Kupang, Mgr Petrus Turang, in a mass requiem or mass spirit attended by Catholics in Kupang City and Kupang Regency, said that before undergoing medical treatment in Semarang and Jakarta, Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota had undergone medical treatment in Kupang for a week due to a lump in the head.
"For a week, we were treated in Kupang because there was a lump on the head. We often talked because while in Kupang we always accompanied us. One day he said that he wanted to immediately return to Ende," said Bishop Mgr Petrus Turang as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 21.
Bishop Mgr Petrus Turang said that Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota is a church servant who always spreads good works that must be imitated by all Catholics.
"Let us follow the example set by Mgr Vincentius Sensi Potokota who always spreads the spirit of love to everyone," said Bishop Mgr Petrus Turang.

Mgr Vincetius Sensi Potokota before becoming Archbishop of Ende on April 14, 2007 was a bishop at the Maumere Diocese on December 14, 2005 after a two-year expansion from the Archdiocese of Ende.
Mgr Vincetius Sensi Potokota while being a Bishop at the Maumere Diocese has committed to rejecting the death penalty including in the case of three death row inmates from Flores Island Fabianus Tibo, Dominggus da Silva and Marinus Riwu in September 2006.
