SpaceX Presents the Latest Version of the Starlink Satellite Terminal
JAKARTA – SpaceX quietly announced a new Standard Starlink terminal via its website. In the latest version, Starlink terminals are slimmer and simpler than before.
The newly introduced satellite terminal has a 10 percent wider field of view. SpaceX has long used a rectangular shape as its standard, but the latest version is made longer than before.
The newest field of view they produced also doesn't have a steering motor, but SpaceX replaced it with a steerable stand. According to the explanation on the site, users only need to scan the buffer.
An important part of a satellite terminal is its resilience system. SpaceX has updated its weather resistance rating from IP54 to IP67. This means that this device is dust resistant and can be submerged in water to a depth of one meter in 30 minutes.

In addition to the updated terminals, the Wi-Fi router has also been redesigned. Now the Starlink router is on a long edge and not standing up straight. This Wi-Fi router is also equipped with two LAN ethernet ports and one WAN ethernet port connected to the terminal.
Previous generation routers did not have ethernet ports. The latest model also reportedly uses tri-band Wi-Fi 6, up from the previous model which was dual-band Wi-Fi 5.
On the Starlink website, it is explained that the router weighing 0.57 kilograms can reach up to 975 meters, better than the previous version which only reached 609 meters.
This W-Fi router that can connect to 235 devices is only available by invitation to an initial group of customers in the United States. SpaceX has not explained when they will expand sales of this Starlink terminal.
