Steal More Than IDR 2 Billion Employer's Money, ART In Pekanbaru Uses It For Living Needs
PekanbarU - Pekanbaru Police, Riau Province, secured a household assistant (ART) with the initials DAS suspected of stealing hundreds of thousands of Singapore dollars and hundreds of kilograms of swallow's nest worth billions of rupiah belonging to his employer.Head of the Crime and Violence Unit (Jatanras) of the Pekanbaru Police, Iptu Nicho Tri Haryanto, explained that the theft was discovered after the owner of the house returned from abroad.The victim, Darwin, realized that some of his valuables were missing at his home on Jalan Tanjung Datuk, Limapuluh District, Thursday, November 9."The perpetrator worked at the victim's house for seven months. When the victim returned from abroad, he realized that 100 thousand Singapore dollars in his room had disappeared," he said, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 14.Not only that, but Darwin's victim also realized that 100 kilograms of his swallow's nest had disappeared. The total loss is estimated at IDR 2 billion.The victim had previously shown surveillance camera footage of the theft to the watershed. However, the suspect, who is a driver and assistant at his house, admitted that he did not know about it."When the reporter was about to make a report to the Police, the perpetrator suddenly left without saying goodbye, causing the victim to suspect that the watershed was the mastermind behind the loss of his property," continued Nicho.After a series of investigations, the Pekanbaru Police Jatanras Team received information on the whereabouts of the perpetrator who was at a hotel in Pekanbaru, Sunday, November 12. Receiving this information, the team moved and made arrests of the perpetrators."From the results of the examination, the suspect admitted to stealing a swallow's nest with two of his colleagues who are currently at large," said Nicho.Nicho said, but DAS did not admit that he had fled 100 thousand Singapore dollars which was reported missing. The perpetrator only admitted to stealing the swallow's nest belonging to the complainant on the 4th floor of the house."The stolen money was used by the perpetrators for their daily needs. Meanwhile, the money from the sale of swallow's nest was shared with two colleagues," added Nicho.
As a result of his actions, DAS was charged with Article 363 and/or 362 in conjunction with 64 of the Criminal Code with a threat of five years in prison.
