Toyota Opens Opportunity To Present Hidrogen Land Cruiser
JAKARTA - After introducing the world's first hydrogen-powered car in 2014, namely Mirai, Toyota continues to strive to develop vehicles with renewable energy in line with the company's multi-path strategy.
The development of hydrogen-powered cars is evidenced by a manufacturer that recently presented HiAce which was developed into hydrogen fuel power.
Toyota's President in Hydrogen Development, Mitsumasa Yamagata, said this alternative fuel is suitable for vehicle models such as Land Cruiser that can load and do heavy work.
The advantages of hydrogen can be used for these vehicles including vehicles for heavy and heavy work, "said Yamagata as reported by Drive, Monday, November 13.
Thus, Toyota could re-develop a suitable engine or drive for the next hydrogen-powered model, although it does not rule out the possibility that the manufacturer will continue to use existing technology in Mirai.
"We are introducing this technology, and we are studying which vehicles will have the appropriate technology," added Yamagata.

It would definitely be interesting if Toyota presented a hydrogen-powered Land Cruiser, given its latest model still carries the hybrid system that was introduced last August.
The Land Cruiser option will also increase after Toyota introduced the EPU, an electric crossover concept car known as the EV version of the Land Cruiser introduced at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
