PT TKDN Supports The U-17 World Cup With Its Smart Traffic Technology In Solo
JAKARTA - The intelligent traffic control system (ITCS) based on Artificial Intelligent (AI) developed by PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk (PT TKDN) helped smooth traffic in Solo City during the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The ITCS, which is installed at the Wisnu Manahan and Simpang Intersections, Sumber Girimulyo, is able to detect real-time vehicle buildup and adjust the traffic light cycle time automatically. This makes traffic around the match location smoother and there is no significant traffic jam.
Buses delivering U-17 players and official world cup vehicles in Solo also get VIP Green Wave, which is a feature in ITCS where certain vehicles (for example ambulances, fire engines or VVIP cars) get priority the green light when crossing two intersections in a row. This is done to ensure the smooth mobility of the players and officials during the event.
"We are very grateful that the ITCS we developed can help smooth traffic in Solo City during the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup," said David Santoso, President Director of PT TKDN, in a written statement, Monday, November 13.
"This is proof that AI technology can be applied to solve various problems in society, including traffic congestion," he added.

ITCS from PT TKDN uses two AI technologies, namely 5th Generation AI Digital Twin 3D and AI Predictive Modelling. 5th Generation Digital Twin AI is able to detect vehicle buildup when queues occur at red lights and adjust traffic lights according to the tight flow of vehicles at each junction leg. Meanwhile, AI Predictive Modelling is able to predict saturation rates at a intersection based on historical and actual data.
"We really appreciate the implementation of ITCS from PT TKDN in Solo City. This technology has proven to be able to help smooth traffic around the location of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup match. We hope this technology can provide comfort and security for the people of Solo city who use the highway both in the midst of the excitement of the event going forward," concluded Taufik Muhammad S. Sit. T, Head of the Solo City Transportation Service.
