PLN Will Supply Green Electricity For PTPN III And Alfamidi
PT PLN (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) and PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (Alfamidi) to supply New Renewable Energy-based electricity (EBT).
PLN's Retail and Commerce Director Edi Srimulyanti said the collaboration in providing clean electricity for PTPN III and Alfamidi was one of PLN's efforts to accelerate the energy transition.
"Now green energy is a necessity or obligation for all of us that we must start from now on. Of course this is not because of the demands of our stakeholders, but rather how we prepare future generations to still enjoy clean and green air," said Edi in a statement to the media, Friday, November 10.
Edi added that PLN's collaboration with PTPN III includes the provision of electricity for palm oil mills, the provision of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) to support PTPN III's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs, and the implementation of knowledge sharing and capacity building in the use of new and renewable energy.
Meanwhile, with Alfamidi, PLN will cooperate in providing electricity for Alfamidi's business activities, partnership vouchers, providing Roof PLTS and utilizing land and building assets, as well as developing an electric vehicle ecosystem with SPKLU and SPBKLU.
On this occasion, the Director of Production and Development of PTPN III, Mahmudi explained, this collaboration is a joint effort to further increase the use of green energy. More specifically, PLN's green electricity supply will greatly support the operations of PTPN III which manages plantation land of 1.2 million hectares (Ha) and becomes the national palm oil backbone.
"In the oil palm production process, how then do we continue to maintain the ESG principle. This is also our main program. Of course, there are many things that we will try to collaborate on later," said Mahmudi.

He is optimistic that PLN's green electricity supply will be able to help produce around 68 palm oil mills with a capacity of approximately 2,960 tons per hour. That way, the current production capacity of 2.8 million tons per year can increase at a more efficient cost.
Meanwhile, Corporate Legal and Compliance Director of PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk. Afid Hermeily said this collaboration is a form of the company's efforts to support the formation of the EBT ecosystem in the country. Along with the strengthening of the ecosystem, Alfamidi will be greatly helped by getting reliable green electricity supply from PLN for Alfamidi outlets spread throughout Indonesia.
"We from Alfamidi express our highest appreciation to PLN, for its support and attention. This collaboration is very valuable for Alfamidi in the context of business development, especially in terms of procuring energy sources, and in line with our concept of supporting the go green program," concluded Afid.
