Patients Treated At The Garut Hospital Are Confirmed To Be Negative For Monkeypox

GARUT - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Garut Regency, West Java conveyed that the results of laboratory tests on a suspected monkeypox patient who was being treated at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Slamet Garut were declared negative, with conditions starting to improve, so he was allowed to return home from the hospital.

"Alhamdulillah, it's negative, it's gone home, and the condition is improving," said Head of the Garut District Health Office Leli Yuliani, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.

The Garut District Health Office has made medical efforts to treat an adult male patient who was previously suspected of contracting monkeypox at Dr. Slamet Garut Hospital.

Efforts to prove the patient was exposed to monkeypox, said Leli, the medical team conducted laboratory tests conducted at the Ministry of Health with negative results of monkeypox.

"It's good, the results are negative," said Leli.

The results of the next examination of the patient only suffered from ordinary smallpox and treatment had been carried out.

The patient, whose results were negative for monkeypox, he said, proved that the case of the outbreak was not in Garut Regency, even so the community remained vigilant and took quick steps by examining the doctor if there were symptoms of the disease.

"Yes, keep increasing vigilance, avoid contact with those with monkeypox symptoms, yes, then wash your hands frequently," he said.

Efforts to prevent the transmission of monkeypox not only apply a healthy lifestyle, but also do not change partners or free sex.

"Those who change partners or also the same sex, especially men and men," he said.
