Central Java Police Handle Reports Of Alleged Misappropriation Of Porprov Funds

The Central Java Regional Police (Central Java) followed up on reports from residents regarding the use of funds for the 2023 Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) activity which was allegedly not in accordance with the regulations by conducting examinations of KONI administrators and sports management in Kudus Regency.

"The presence of the Central Java Police Corruption Team to Kudus has been since Monday (4/11) who examined the ranks of the Kudus KONI management, while today (8/11) is examining the sports branch manager (Pengcab)," said the Coordinator for Sports Legal for the Management of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Kudus Yusuf Istanto as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 8.

He revealed the examination was related to public reports that in the implementation of the 2023 Porprov in Pati Raya, including Kudus Regency as one of the hosts, there were allegations of financial abuse.

In implementing the Porprov, he said, there was indeed a budget for the procurement of jerseys or t-shirts for the Porprov team from Kudus, related to transportation, lodging, training camps, and pocket money.

It's just that, he added, in its implementation it was suspected that there were several problems, especially in the procurement of the Porprov team T-shirt from Kudus.

Therefore, the Central Java Police Corruption Team conducted an in-depth investigation of the case, especially in the procurement of several needs of the Porprov team from Kudus which allegedly did not comply with the provisions.

In addition to the ranks of the Kudus KONI management, both the acting Chairman of KONI Kudus, the treasurer and his secretary, as well as the ranks of the Kudus Sports Branch Management (Pengcab).

"From the information of one of the heads of sports district heads, it was stated that the questions were related to the procurement of t-shirts, which may also be related to whether there was an offer to third parties and whether there was a work contract or not. In addition, it was also asked what number of uniforms the team received, what quality it was, then also about the food menu," he said.

He estimates that the investigation will continue until tomorrow (9/11) because there are still several district heads who have not been questioned.

"Of the number of district heads who took part in the 2023 Porprov, there were indeed four district heads who had not received T-shirts," he said.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Pencab Association of Indonesian Pencak Silat (IPSI) Kudus Muhammad Nur Hasyim admitted that he was asked by a team from the Central Java Police regarding all matters relating to the implementation of the poprov.

Among them, related to lodging in hotels, food, transportation, training centers, to pocket money for athletes.

Regarding transportation, he said, his party only needs to use available vehicles without having to look for them, including food and drink needs while participating in the porprov.
