Unreleased, Mazda CX-5 Facelift Caught On Camera In Malaysia

JAKARTA - Since its introduction in 2012, Mazda CX-5 has become one of Mazda's mainstay products. Over time, this car has undergone various changes in terms of appearance and performance through two different generations.

The second generation of CX-5, introduced at the end of 2016 and mass-produced since 2017 until now, has experienced a facelift in 2021 and remains marketed to date.

Now, the facelift version of CX-5 will soon be on the Malaysian market. An image can be seen showing the car covered in a white sticker and transported using a trailer, as reported by Paultan, Tuesday, November 7.

This update includes a slightly slimmer design and has a subtle curve at its base. Other changes include a new look from the revised back light.

The redesigned front light is now equipped with an element of rectangular LED lighting. Grill comes with a three-dimensional web insertion, while the lower apron is equipped with a black trim that is more minimal than the previous one.

On the inside, the interior will retain a similar design to the previous version, including a 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless phone charging, and the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) driving mode system.

It is estimated that Mazda will not change the performance of this SUV, which is supported by a 4-cylinder engine with a DOHC of 2,488 cc, resulting in 190 ps of power at 6,000 rpm and a 252 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm, with a transmission of six automatic accelerations.

In Indonesia, the facelift version of CX-5 was introduced in early April 2022 with two variants, namely Elite and airshed. Currently, this model is available at a price of IDR 608.8 million for Elite type and behind Edition for IDR 618.8 million, including OTR Jakarta.
