Alert, 2 Districts In East Jakarta Enter The Medium Zone Potentially Landslide
JAKARTA - Based on information from PVMBG (Villcanology Center and Geological Disaster Mitigation), two sub-districts in the East Jakarta area are still identified as having the potential for landslides to occur. Both sub-districts are in the middle zone.
"Information from PVMBG (Villencing Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation), the East Jakarta area includes Kramat Jati and Pasar Rebo with the potential for ground movement," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Disaster Data and Information Processing Unit, Michael Sitanggang to VOI, Wednesday, November 8.
Michael said that the area forecast for the potential for soil movement to occur was prepared based on the results of the overlay between the map of the vulnerability zone for ground movement and the monthly rainfall forecast map obtained from the BMKG.
"In the medium zone (region points) there can be soil movement if the rainfall is above normal. Especially in areas bordering river valleys, gawir, road cliffs or if the slopes experience disruption," he said.
Apart from East Jakarta, several areas in DKI Jakarta are also in medium zones such as the South Jakarta area which includes Cilandak, Jagakarsa, Kebayoran Baru, Kebayoran Lama, Mampang Prapatan, Pancoran, Pasar Minggu, and Pesanggrahan sub-districts.

"The village head, sub-district head, and the community are advised to continue to anticipate the potential for ground movement during the above normal rainfall," he said.
