Two Oil And Gas WKs In The Warim Block Are Auctioned, The Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Leaks The Criteria For His Interest
JAKARTA - The government is known to have auctioned off two working areas (WK) in the Warim oil and gas block, namely Akimegah 1 and Akumeudah 2. Based on the narrative of the Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji, the two oil and gas blocks have found enthusiasts but have not yet specified which company will manage the wWK.
Responding to this, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin tasrif gave a leak regarding the criteria for the company that will manage the WK adjacent to the Lorentz National Park.
Arifin said the company was classified as a large company and was able to explore in difficult areas.
Just so you know, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources labels the Warim Block with a high-risk category.
"Those who want are those in difficult areas. Must have great abilities," Arifin told the media at the ESDM Ministry Building, Friday, November 3.
He said, companies must be able to both financially and from exploration capabilities because otherwise, companies must look for new partners and will cost quite a lot of money.
"That's why we are also looking for a mate (for Warim) to be smart," he said.
Previously, the Director General of Oil and Gas, Tutuka Ariadji, said that his party included these two WKs in the WK category with high risk and asked Contractors for Cooperation Contractors (KKKS) to conduct a consortium or cooperation in order to reduce risks.
Tutuka said, in order to immediately explore, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources cut the area that is included in the Lorentz National Park area which is indeed related to the WK.

"Akimegah itu nama dulu Warim. Kita cut untuk tidak berhubungan dengan Taman Lorentz karena harusnya panjang dan harus dengan Unesco selain dengan KLHK," ujarnya dalam acara Menelisik Prospect Energi 2024 Gurih atau Hampar?, Rabu 25 Oktober.
After cutting the WK, Tutuka admitted that there was a reduction in gas potential that could be explored. However, Tutuka said the existing potential was still quite large.
Tutuka also said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had pocketed several KKKS names interested in WK Akimegah but he was reluctant to reveal these names. He reasoned that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources encouraged the KKKS to form a consortium in developing the WK located in Papua.
