The Indonesian Contingent Has Reached The Gold Medal Target At The 2023 Asian Para Games, This Is What The Menpora Said
JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent has met the gold medal target at the 2023 Asian Para Games. The Red and White team has so far collected 19 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 26 bronze medals.
For this reason, it is known that the government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), has set a target to finish in the last 10 standings to bring 19 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze.
Currently, the Indonesian contingent is in seventh position in the standings for the 2022 Asian Para Games medals, Thursday, October 26, as reported by the official Asian Para Games website.
This position rose by one strip from Indonesia's position on Thursday afternoon, thanks to an additional gold medal contributed by the sport of the SH6 mixed doubles badminton.
In the final, the Rina Marlina/Subhan pair managed to overcome the resistance of deputy host Zeng Qingtao/Lin Shuangbao to seal the 21-17, 21-19 victory.
The badminton sport also contributed one other gold medal from the SL3-SU5 mixed doubles event, namely from the Leani Ratri Oktila/Himat Ramdani pair who won 21-7, 21-8 over the other Indonesian pair Khalimatus Sadiyah/Fredy Setiawan.
The achievement of the Indonesian contingent was appreciated by Menpora Dito Ariotedjo. He also thanked the athletes who had fought tremendously.
"I want to convey my first, appreciation, and also a lot of gratitude to all Indonesian contingents, athletes, officials, and coaches because today the acquisition is very significant," said Dito, as quoted by Antara.
