Golkar Doesn't Question Gibran's Status Is Still A PDIP Cadre, Example JK When He Was Jokowi's Vice Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Golkar Party Maman Abdurrahman stated that his party did not question the status of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is still a PDI-P cadre (PDIP) when he was nominated as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).
According to Maman, Gibran's candidacy, promoted by Golkar as Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate, is commonplace in the political dynamics in Indonesia.
He also gave an example of senior Golkar politician Jusuf Kalla when he was vice presidential candidate for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2014 presidential election. Even though at that time Golkar did not support Jokowi's candidacy promoted by PDIP.
"After all, we have advanced Pak Joko Widodo with Pak Yusuf Kalla (JK), the Golkar party does not support Pak Yusuf Kalla, yes, for me this is a political consequence in an open system like now," said Maman at Golkar DPP, Jalan Anggrek Neli, West Jakarta, Tuesday 24 October.
Maman revealed that Gibran had reported related to the investigation as a vice presidential candidate by Golkar to the Chairperson of the DPP Puan Maharani.
"Yes, I have ( Gibran's communication with PDIP, ed). He has communicated with Mba Puan and several DPP terrace administrators," he said.

"Regarding Gibran's presence in the Golkar party or not in the Golkar party, we leave it to Mas Gibran. However, the most important thing for the Golkar Party is that we want to carry and encourage the issue of young people through a Gibran Rakabuming, so later the existence of Golkar parties and Gibran is more functional in terms of things," explained Maman.
