Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal Soetta Holik Muwardi Airport confirmed that activities at Soekarno Hatta Airport were not disrupted despite a fire at the Rawa Cat TPA resulting in thick smoke.
"The flight at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was not disrupted," Holik said when confirmed, Friday, October 20.
Holik assessed that the fire that occurred at the Rawa Cat TPA towards the wind did not lead to Soekarno Hatta Airport. So, he continued, smoke from the location of the fire did not interfere with the flight.
"The wind direction is also not towards the airport," he said.

Meanwhile, at the location of the fire, the extinguishing process is still ongoing. A total of 95 personnel and 25 units of the Tangerang City fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire.
Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division at the Tangerang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Gufron Falfeli explained that the burned area was located on the landfills of Pintu 1 and 2 TPA Rawa Cats.
"We have deployed 25 fire engines and 10 water tankers from DLH," he said.
