This Afternoon The BEM SI Alliance Protests Jokowi At The State Palace, Thousands Of Police On Guard

JAKARTA - The BEM SI Alliance (All over Indonesia) will raid the State Palace with the action tag 'Jokowi Betrayer of Reform' which was held in the Horse Statue area, Monas, Central Jakarta on Friday, October 20, afternoon.

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 1,611 personnel to secure the demonstration among the students.

"We have deployed 1611 joint troops from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta and assisted by the TNI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro to reporters, Friday, October 20.

Kombes Susatyo appealed to the protesters to comply with the time limit in accordance with the applicable laws.

"We are ready to secure this action so that it runs in an orderly, peaceful manner and does not sacrifice the interests of the wider community," he said.

The joint forces will start guarding the Jalan Sudirman area to the Horse Statue area, Monas.

"Personnel of troops were also deployed on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan for security. Hopefully this alsi will run in an orderly manner," he said.
