Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Targets Tanjung Carat Port Development In South Sumatra To Start In 2024
JAKARTA - The Minister of Transportation (Menhub) of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi targets the construction of the Tanjung Carat Port in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, to be carried out in 2024.
Budi Karya Sumadi said that any obstacles related to administrative processes, such as land and so on, are expected to be completed in the near future, so that the construction of the Tanjung Carat Port will begin and operate as soon as possible.
"Next year we will finish everything, be it administration, AMDAL, budget and so on. God willing, by 2024 the construction of Tanjung Carat Port can begin," he said, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 16.
According to him, the existence of Tanjung Carat Port is important considering that all mining commodities and other logistics affairs have been sent to ports in Lampung.
"We will also continue to encourage the acceleration of its implementation at the ministry level at the center." he said.
In addition, he said, currently many investors are interested in investing in the Tanjung Carat Port area, starting from bulk, solid and liquid fields, it is certain that they will invest.
"Currently, we are still waiting for confirmation from investors in the field of containers or logistics in the construction of Tanjung Carat Port," said Budi
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni said he agreed to realize the construction of Tanjung Carat Port. Because, later it can have a positive impact on South Sumatra.

"In principle, all programs that enter South Sumatra, both in terms of smooth transportation and public services, we will definitely support them. Earlier we also discussed various things, including realizing Tanjung Carat Port, what we have to do and steps to accelerate it will be implemented," he explained.
Fatoni said the plan to build Tanjung Carat Port must be carried out optimally. Therefore, related agencies are asked to carry out an inventory to accelerate it.
"Incidentally, I participated in the discussion of Tanjung Carat Port at the ministry and knew about its development. Hopefully, the construction can be carried out soon and we will carry out intense coordination to realize it," he said.
