Successful Mandalika MotoGP, PLN Ensures Electricity Supply Without Flickering
JAKARTA - PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI), Subholding PT PLN (Persero), ensures electricity supply without flickering during the Mandalika MotoGP event on October 13-15, 2023 at the Mandalika Circuit Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
PLN EPI President Director Iwan Agung Firstantara explained that one of the important bases to ensure reliable electricity supply is a maintained primary energy supply.
PLN EPI as a part that ensures that the primary energy supply chain guarantees that the stock of all primary energy, be it LNG, BBM, coal and biomass at the generator is in a safe position.
"We ensure that all primary energy stocks are in safe condition. We ensure that all primary energy loading and unloading has been completed, and guard the day of operation of the generator (HOP) for more than 20 days. This step is important to realize reliable electricity without flickering for international events," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, October 15.
Iwan detailed that there are four power plants that are the power backbone of the Lombok system, namely PLTU Jeranjang 90 MW, currently the HOP is at 24.3 days and the IPP PLTU Lombok Energy Dynamic 50 MW has a HOP with sufficient coal supply.
Meanwhile, PLTMGU Lombok peaker 132.4 MW has a fuel stock of 1,515 kiloliters of fuel with a HOP that is above average and PLTMG MPP Jeranjang 51 MW has a stock fuel of 1,353 kiloliters and also has a HOP above average.
"We ensure that all supplies are in the process of completing loading and unloading and are in the pitstok. To ensure supply chain, PLN EPI has also prepared additional supplies from the predetermined delivery schedule," said Iwan.

Meanwhile, for the readiness of supporting equipment, PLN has prepared 18 generator units, 19 units of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) mobile, 9 units of mobile substations (UGB), and 18 units of automatic transfer switch (ATS), and the readiness of 180 personnel with the support of 25 units of cars, and 12 units of motorcycles.
