Gelora Party: Prabowo-Gibran Match Is Very Strong For The Position Of Vice President

JAKARTA - The Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora) assesses that Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka is very appropriate to be a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying presidential candidate (candidate) Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. This is because there are two reasons that are the basis for arguments in determining Prabowo's vice president. Namely, the reconsolidation and legacy of the sustainability of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) government.

"Gibran has Pak Jokowi's face in it. So for reconciliation and legacy reasons, taking Gibran is perfect and his fitness is very strong," said Fahri Hamzah in his statement, Saturday, October 14.

However, Fahri continued, in the meeting of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which was held yesterday, it was only agreed that four criteria for determining the vice president. Namely representing West Java, Central Java, East Java and outside Java.

"All political party leaders have four compact criteria, we will have another meeting next week. Next week we will determine one name, so all political party leaders are prohibited from leaving Jakarta until October 25," said Fahri.

Fahri explained, in the KIM meeting it was also revealed that Gibran's survey showed a significant upward trend. For the candidate for governor of Central Java, Gibran's survey is highest. As for being vice president, Gibran's survey is already in number 6 or 4.

Therefore, Fahri assessed that the Prabowo-Gibran pair was the right couple, complementing each other and representing two generations. According to him, Gibran will attract voters from millennials, as well as become the middle of the deadlock in determining the vice presidential candidate proposed by KIM's supporting political parties.

"Gibran is not just a complement, but also represents two generations. In addition, the advantage is that there are many issues of the Regional Government (Regional Government) that Gibran will answer because against Prabowo, all of them have a local government background. So the match between the Prabowo-Cawapres Gibran pair is very strong," said Fahri.
