Takaaki Nakagami Thanks Fans In Indonesia For This
JAKARTA - The Indonesian MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit gave an extraordinary impression for the Honda LCR rider, Takaaki Nakagami. He felt very happy when the MotoGP race was held in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Sunday 15 October.
Nakagami admitted that she was amazed by the Indonesian people who loved MotoGP very much. He also thanked him for this.
"I'm very happy to see him, all Idonesia fans since we first arrived we tested him at Mandalika. Also a shocking weekend race. I mean, I didn't expect so many people to come," said Nakagami.
"It's great to see it. I am very grateful to Indonesian fans. So I am very happy to be here. The race in Mandalika is really proud," he added, as in a statement from Antara.
The Japanese racer was determined to reach his first podium in the 2023 MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit. According to him, all drivers have the same chance to reach the podium in the 15th series of this season.
"I haven't been able to reach any podiums in MotoGP, but hopefully, you know that here in Mandalika, there are always great opportunities. Only two days of testing and also weekend races, so there aren't many laps here in Mandalika," said Nakagami.
In the MotoGP series at the same circuit last season, Nakagami failed to gain points because he only finished in 19th position.
"It's not easy, but trying to get to the first podium in Mandalika will be more than perfect," said the rider who had signed a new contract with LCR Honda.
Currently, Nakagami is in 18th position with 45 points in the drivers' standings. His performance this season can be said to be not as bright as last season.
