Response To 4 Names Entering Prabowo's Vice Presidential Exchange, PSI: Good And Competent
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) responded to the four names that were included in the stock exchange for presidential candidates (cawapres) accompanying Prabowo Subianto. They are considered competent.
"In principle, the four names work well and are of course competent. However, the final decision is of course waiting from KIM (Advanced Indonesia Coalition) like what," said PSI Board member Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka when met on the sidelines of her activities accompanying the political safari of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep in Bandung Regency, West Java, Monday, October 9, which was confiscated by Antara.
PSI has so far not determined the direction of its support for the 2024 presidential election. PSI's attitude is not unanimous even though party representatives often attend declaration events to support Prabowo running as a presidential candidate in 2024
"We'll just have to wait," said Isyana briefly.
Meanwhile, PSI DPP General Chair Kaesang Pangarep when asked about the direction of his party's support for the 2024 presidential election, said his party had not yet made a decision.
"Not yet, not yet, patient," said Kaesang when met after a dialogue with young people in Tasikmalaya City, West Java, Monday, October 9.

At the same location, when he was asked about the possibility if Gibran was Prabowo's companion, Kaesang said that as the party's general chairman he must hear the aspirations of the cadres.
"If the Mayor (Gibran, ed.) becomes a vice presidential candidate, I have to be fair again, I have to hear the aspirations of all PSI friends in the DPD, DPW, everything, because we are making this decision together, not because I am close to the Mayor," said Kaesang.
Prabowo Subianto is currently being promoted by the Forward Indonesia Coalition consisting of the Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, the Crescent Star Party, the Indonesian Gelora Party, and the Democratic Party.
Registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled for October 19, 2023 to November 25, 2023.
Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
